Lolparpit and Olbarnoti
Also known as The Enkoyonai Males · Olare Motorogi Conservancy, Kenya
2008 – c. 2021
Origin: Ridge Pride, Masai Mara, Kenya
Lolparpit and Olbarnoti were brothers born in early 2005 in the Ridge Pride of Kenya’s Masai Mara, younger brothers of the Big Cat Diary males Cheza, Sala and Junior. Followers rank them, with Notch and the 4 km males, among the Mara coalitions with the most descendants.
In 2008 they took the Enkoyonai Pride, a group of lionesses that had settled in the young Olare Orok (now Olare Motorogi) Conservancy, and under their protection it grew into a dynasty that split into the Oldikidiki and Porini prides. In mid-2010 they drove the old Moniko males from the Moniko Pride and, with the Iseketa Pride, ruled the whole conservancy until mid-2011. A rivalry with Mohican and Romeo II lasted from 2013 to 2016, and in 2015 five Rekero males took parts of the Moniko Pride from them.
At about thirteen, they took back the Enkoyonai Pride, the pride they had started with. Lolparpit died of old age in November 2020, at nearly sixteen; Olbarnoti was still with the Enkoyonai lions in 2021. Their sons include the six Bila Shaka Boys.
