The Sala’s Boys
Also known as The Salas Males · Masai Mara, Kenya
c. 2018 – present
Origin: Sala’s Pride, Masai Mara, Kenya
The Sala’s Boys are a coalition of three brothers, Olepolos, Osapuk and Orkitok, born in August 2015 in the Sala’s Pride of Kenya’s Masai Mara and sired by the two old Sala’s males. They are known to fans as one of the most powerful coalitions of the modern Mara, and as large, aggressive males.
Their first major takeover was the Rekero Pride. They then took the Topi Pride on the Topi Plains, which grew to about thirty lions at its peak, and in 2020–2021 the Topi lionesses bore them seven sons: the Topi Boys, who took the Marsh Pride in December 2024. In December 2022 the three chased the young Black Rock brothers, who turned on them and injured all three. By 2024 they were also involved with the Enguyanai Pride of the Olare Motorogi Conservancy.
Orkitok, who had limped since 2022, died in June 2025. Olepolos and Osapuk continue together.
