Kito

Also known as Charm’s Daughter · The Leader of the Marsh Pride

Unknown – present

Born in Masai Mara, Kenya

Kito is a lioness of the Marsh Pride of Kenya’s Masai Mara, the most filmed lion pride in the world, and a daughter of Charm, the heroine of the BBC’s Dynasties. With her sister Rembo she took on the leadership of the pride after her mother’s generation.

By 2026 Kito led a pride of six adult females, Kito, Lola, Kaleo, Enkerai, Naserian and Nusurika, under the protection of the seven Topi Boys, who took over the Marsh in December 2024. She wears a research collar, and her tracking data, supplied by the Mara Predator Conservation Programme, helps guides follow the pride through the marsh and the Bila Shaka lugga.

Kito is the living link between the lions of Big Cat Diary and Dynasties and the Marsh Pride of today.
